Home energy and efficiency is a really big deal now, and by law, your home must have a valid Energy Performance Rating (EPR) before it can go on the market. This rating shows both you and potential buyers how energy efficient your home is.

Who to Use
If you don’t have a valid certificate, or you’ve made home improvements since your last assessment, you’ll need to contact your local Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), they'll come round and carry out a new inspection. The good news is, they’ll also highlight simple, cost-effective ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency rating which is great for when you come to sell

Once complete, your DEA will issue an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) — you’ll need to give a copy to your estate agent and solicitor.
